Environmental Integration

The Natural Ventilation works by allowing for openings below the classrooms which gather the air, pushing the cool air up and through the classrooms, venting once again through seperate vents located in the opposing wall. The solar louvers which make up the majority of window space within each classroom can also be opened depending of wind direction to allow cross ventilation.

The water is stored within a bladder system available through: http://www.rainreviva.com.au/

By housing the water within the floor it adds thermal massing which should assist in cooling the classrooms in summer, and hold heat in winter.

The Shutters would have a built in solar system which would most likely be manually operated so as to save power and the reliance on a computer operated system. They would potentially capture enough sun to power their pod, making them all but self sufficient. They also allow light into the classrooms, but this is filtered.
